Triethylene glycol

Triethylene glycol (TEG) is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid with a sweetish taste.

Used as a plasticizer for vinyl and also as a disinfectant. In the chemical industry, due to its high hygroscopicity, it is used as a liquid desiccant for natural gas, as well as in air conditioning systems. Due to its low volatility, TEG can be used instead of diethylene glycol as a tobacco humectant and as an additive for hydraulic and brake fluids.
